Two new blogs

Here are two “new” blogs (new = recently discovered by me) to add to your Google Reader for Lent!

Holy Cards for Your Inspiration has a holy card posted every day from the author’s personal collection. Many of them are breathtakingly beautiful, and if any of you are anything like me, it is always nice to have visual reminders of Christ, Mary and the saints to meditate on in prayer.

Vultus Christi is a blog written by a monk who has been commanded to live in front of the Blessed Sacrament. The meditations that Father Mark writes are incredible, and definitely something to print out and read/chew on later, not during the morning cup of coffee. Every day for the past two weeks I have read his posts, and I don’t leave a single one without a sentence or two lodging right in my heart. (Hat tip: Mary Ann)

Enjoy!

P.S. Please say a prayer for me today — spiritual direction this afternoon!

P.P.S. A First Friday reminder: This is the Jubilee Year at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. From November 16, 2008 until November 16, 2009, Catholics can make a pilgrimage to the Shrine and receive a plenary indulgence. The usual conditions apply: Mass, Confession, and prayers said for the Pope’s intentions.
