Girls’ Night

March 4, 2010 § Leave a comment

Last night I had my (pretty much) weekly girls’ night out with one of my best girlfriends, Monique. She is marrying my cousin which is awesome because we would have been great friends anyway, and this only means we have to stay in touch. ;) I came across a blog yesterday that said it perfectly:

“To completely misquote Aristotle, friendship is a single soul dwelling in two closets.”

That’s us.

Anyway, we went out secondhand shopping and then to a lovely French restaurant called Bistrot du Coin. It made me want to go back to France so very badly, what with the tiny tables, little-or-no personal space, waiters squeezing through the crowd, lots of talking and laughter and wine. We split a tartine and warm goat-cheese salad, and finished off with yummy chocolate mousse.

I’ll be honest: throughout high school and into college, I really didn’t see the worth of having girlfriends. How wrong I was! Over the past couple years, God has shown me what an incredible blessing they are. Praise God.
