Happy Feast of St. Thomas More!

June 22, 2009 § Leave a comment

Today is another day that is particularly special to me, as St. Thomas More has been a patron of mine since high school. His abilities to work with the contemporary political system to further the Kingdom of God, his love for his country and his king, and finally his fortitude and faith in the face of execution when he knew he must stand on principle, inspire me daily to stand up for what I hold dear and never fear to engage modern culture in the battle to revolutionize it for Christ. Back in 2005, I was blessed to visit England with my family for the third time. On that trip, we made a couple pilgrimages involving St. Thomas More: one to the church in Canterbury where his head is buried in the Roper vault, and the other to where he was executed in London. You can read my travel journal entries for those two days here and here if you are interested. Both were very impressive visits.

Here are some photos from those days…
