#1 Beauty Tip

I don’t wear makeup as a rule, and never have. Instead, I am a *huge* fan of moisturizers of all kinds and the wonderful things they can do. My #1 beauty tip: use eye cream twice a day, especially if you wear contact lenses (and are tugging at your undereye on a regular basis). Your undereye area does not have a subcutaneous (fatty) layer and little support strucutre, so it wrinkles very easy and does not bounce back as well as the rest of your skin. It is a good idea to use a separate eye cream too, because regular facial moisturizers often contain coal-tar colors – listed as FD&C or D&C on the bottle – which can irritate your eyes and eventually cause blindness. I’ve been using different eye creams for awhile now, and have a couple favorites. (They tend to be relatively expensive, but do not balk at the prices…even very small bottles last for months at a time.)
BEST: Nature’s Gate Ultimate Comfort Eye Cream with Amino Acid Moisture Complex – $23.22 for 2 oz.
Also good: Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Daily Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream – $5.93 for 0.5 oz.
(My only criticism of this is that it is more liquidy and really stings when it runs into your eye.)
Happy Vigil of the Solemnity of Pentecost!
