It’s already been an exciting morning, (almost too exciting for a Friday) complete with an emergency order of CO2 for someone’s dying cell cultures, an 18-wheeler lost somewhere in Northern VA, and an order we’d thought we’d ordered but which in fact was not. And it is barely 8:30AM. Methinks it will be a crazy day.
Yesterday, I did take some lovely leisure time. A DF and I went and played piano for an hour (I start piano lessons again tomorrow morning!), and I even found time to do some fun reading before bed. My current pleasure read is The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne, an adventure that begins during the Civil War and the siege of Richmond. I am roughly halfway through it, and can say that Jules Verne does not disappoint in this sequel to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Everyone should read Jules Verne at some point in their life.
An interesting tidbit: This is the Jubilee Year at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. From November 16, 2008 until November 16, 2009, Catholics can make a pilgrimage to the Shrine and receive a plenary indulgence. The usual conditions apply: Mass, Confession, and prayers said for the Pope’s intentions. Huzzahs!
